Rumors have surfaced indicating that the Honor Magic V4 will not be making an appearance, however, fans can look forward to the imminent release of the Honor Magic V5. The number 4 is traditionally avoided in Chinese culture due to its association with bad luck, leading to the decision to skip the V4 moniker and move straight to the V5. This upcoming device is expected to rival other flagship foldables such as the Oppo Find N5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The Honor Magic V5 is slated for a June launch and is rumored to be incredibly sleek, measuring under 9 mm when folded. This puts it in direct competition with the Oppo Find N5, currently the thinnest book-style foldable at 8.93 mm. In terms of camera capabilities, the V5 is speculated to feature a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.5" sensor size and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom, setting it apart from its competitors.
Additional expected features of the Honor Magic V5 include an 8-inch internal screen, a 6.45-inch outer display, both supporting 120Hz refresh rates and LTPO technology. Premium functionalities such as a fingerprint sensor in the power button, IPX8 water resistance, wireless charging, satellite connectivity, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip are also anticipated.
