The latest beta version of Google Messages, coded as 20250402_00_RC00, has revealed some promising upgrades for users. One standout feature is the expansion of the compose field, allowing for up to 12 lines of text compared to the current 4 lines. This significant increase means users can now view between 48 and 72 words, offering a more comprehensive typing experience.

Additionally, Google is also working on new notification snoozing options, including presets like 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, or "always." This feature could prove useful for muting group chats without alerting others and ensuring notifications for mentions, akin to other messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger and Slack.
Other forthcoming updates include a "join via link" feature for group chats, improved UI elements such as card-style forward message screens, enhanced search and start chat interfaces, and easier group image editing. While these features are currently in the beta phase, their potential integration into the stable version of Google Messages could enhance the overall user experience.
