Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Redmi A5 4G, a device that promises to deliver impressive features at an attractive price point. Following the upcoming launch of the Redmi Note 14 series in Bangladesh, the Redmi A5 has already made its way into stores, with early adopters sharing images and specifications.
The Redmi A5 4G boasts a massive 6.88” 120Hz display, likely a vibrant 720p+ LCD, although this detail is yet to be confirmed. Enhancements can be seen in the front-facing camera, now upgraded to 8MP from the previous 5MP standard, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader adds a layer of convenience.
On the rear, the camera setup has seen a change, featuring a 32MP sensor, a shift from the previous 50MP. While there are mentions of AI enhancements, the specifics remain unclear at this time.
Powering the Redmi A5 is a robust 5,200mAh battery, akin to what was found in the A3 Pro and A4 models, with 18W charging capability, although a 15W adapter comes included in the box.

Official teasers for the Redmi A5
Though not yet confirmed, reports indicate that the Redmi A5 will be powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset, which is a 4G-only processor featuring 2x Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 1.6GHz, along with a Mali-G57 GPU. In performance, it is expected to be similar to the Helio G81 Ultra found in the A3 Pro, but could lag behind the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 utilized in the A4, which also supports 5G connectivity, marking a notable downgrade.
The Redmi A5 will be available in two configurations: 4GB RAM with 64GB storage priced at BDT 11,000, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at BDT 13,000. This translates to approximately $90/€83/₹7,850 for the base model, aligning with the price points of the previous Redmi A3 (non-Pro variant). It will be offered in four appealing colors as displayed in the visuals above.
Additionally, rumors suggest that the hardware of the Redmi A5 may be released as the “Poco C71” in certain regions.
