Samsung and Nvidia Join Forces to Enhance AI Technologies in Mobile Networks

Samsung has forged a strategic partnership with Nvidia aimed at revolutionizing Artificial Intelligence in Radio Access Networks (AI-RAN). This collaboration aims to leverage Nvidia's advanced computing platforms and Samsung's virtualized mobile network solutions to significantly boost the efficiency and performance of mobile networks.

Radio Access Networks (RANs) are essential for connecting cellular devices, with 5G being a notable example. In this initiative, Nvidia will implement its Grace CPU and GPU-based AI platform alongside Samsung’s virtualized network to provide adaptable architecture technologies suitable for rural areas, suburban zones, and densely populated urban settings.

June Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D for the Networks Business at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the significance of this partnership by stating, "As AI continues to transform the telecommunications landscape, Samsung is committed to helping operators establish the optimal network architecture for AI to thrive, driven by our reliable and AI-enhanced vRAN."

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President for Telecom at Nvidia, remarked, "AI-RAN represents a pivotal technology that yields substantial improvements in network utilization, efficiency, and overall performance while facilitating new AI-driven services."
