It’s crucial to highlight that this test took place in a controlled environment, with careful positioning of the devices to maximize their strength for the weight-bearing demonstration. A person was also positioned in the swing, who may exceed the weight technically needed to test the hinge's endurance, further proving the robustness of the design.
This demonstration underscores a significant shift towards sturdier foldable smartphones. The Oppo Find N5 boasts IPX8 and IPX9 ratings, ensuring resistance to both immersion in water and exposure to powerful water jets. In comparison, another foldable device, the Honor Magic V3, showcased its resilience during stress tests conducted in August 2024.
