Honor Champions Open Collaboration and User Data Protection in AI Development

In a bold move towards shaping the future of artificial intelligence, Honor has unveiled its Alpha Plan, emphasizing the importance of open collaboration in AI development. CEO James Li attended the recent MWC 2025, where he outlined the company's commitment to creating a safe and interconnected AI ecosystem that prioritizes user privacy.

During discussions at the event, Li highlighted a new white paper focused on safeguarding user data and introduced five key principles that Honor intends to adhere to as they forge ahead in the AI space.

Li pointed out the significant shift towards a "physical AI era," underscoring the need for industry-wide cooperation to create a robust platform encompassing a variety of devices that enhance day-to-day functionality. The vision includes seamless integration of smartphones with automobiles, smart homes, and wearable technology that delivers tailored health insights—steps that necessitate standardized AI connectivity solutions.

To tackle the pressing concern of user data protection in this evolving AI landscape, Honor's five principles include data minimization, on-device protection for sensitive information, prioritizing on-device processing, desensitization and encryption of data prior to cloud uploading, and ensuring data deletion post-use.

While these ideals present an optimistic view of AI’s future, the real test will be in their execution beyond theoretical discussions and into real-world applications.
