The iPad 11 Launches, But Lacks AI Features
Apple has just unveiled its latest entry-level tablet, the iPad 11, and while it boasts impressive hardware with the A16 chip, it noticeably falls short in one increasingly important area: artificial intelligence capabilities. In a tech landscape that is rapidly integrating AI into a variety of devices, the iPad 11 is left behind, with many essential smart features available only on the newer iPad Air models. This raises questions for potential buyers about the versatility of the iPad 11 in a world where AI is becoming the norm.
Apple's new entry-level iPad model, the iPad 11, has arrived, but it does not come equipped with some of the most sought-after features in today’s tech market—specifically, AI integration. While the newly announced iPad Air models are taking the limelight, the 11th Gen iPad has quietly made its debut without many of the advanced functionalities that typically come with AI-driven devices.

Apple Intelligence—the AI capabilities we’ve come to expect from Apple's higher-end products—will not be part of the iPad 11 experience. For those looking to utilize smart organizational tools, you'll have to look to the iPad Air models instead. While regular Siri features are included, the absence of Apple’s more advanced functionalities means users will miss out on various other smart features.
If you compare all iPad models on Apple's website, the lack of integrated AI features in the entry-level iPad becomes immediately evident. Absent tools like Writing Tools, Genmoji, and enhanced Siri functions, it may not fulfill the needs of all users, especially those seeking more from their devices.
Powered by the same A16 chip found in the iPhone 14 Pro and other models, the iPad 11 is not devoid of performance. However, with only 6GB of RAM available, it cannot support more demanding AI tasks, which require a minimum of 8GB. The iPad 11 will not compete with Apple's more advanced offerings which feature the necessary RAM and processor capabilities for AI integration.
On the bright side for potential buyers, Apple has finally moved past its 64GB storage tier, with the new iPad starting at a more generous 128GB. Pre-orders are currently active, and the device will be available starting March 12.
