Samsung's One UI 7 Update Rollout Set to Begin in April

Samsung users have long awaited the arrival of the One UI 7 update based on Android 15, and it looks like the wait is almost over. After months of anticipation, the tech giant has confirmed that the official update will commence in April, offering Galaxy device owners a host of new features and improvements.

While many eagerly look forward to Android 16, it's unrealistic to expect its stable release before August, particularly for Google's Pixel devices. Samsung has prioritized its current lineup, yet the rollout of One UI 7 has been slower than fans hoped, primarily limited to the Galaxy S25 series so far.

The company recently verified that the "official update of One UI 7 will be available starting in April." However, there is no assurance that any devices outside the Galaxy S24 series will receive the update next month.

Rumors suggest that along with the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra, the budget-friendly Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 may also join the stable One UI 7 update on April 18, according to a leaked preliminary schedule.

Later in the month, it is possible that the Galaxy S23 lineup might receive the much-coveted update alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy A54 mid-range device. However, given the prolonged wait and extensive beta testing phases, it’s advisable to remain cautiously optimistic.

Samsung undoubtedly has some explaining to do regarding the delay, marking this situation as a significant software misstep in their recent history. For context, the previous Android 14-based One UI 6 started rolling out to the Galaxy S23 models in October 2023, while its predecessors received Android 13 just one year prior, also in October.

Meanwhile, other brands like OnePlus, Motorola, Sony, and HMD have successfully delivered this update to numerous devices, raising questions about Samsung's readiness and efficiency in this aspect. As One UI 7 diverges significantly from the standard Android experience, many Samsung users might have preferred an earlier update over the proprietary enhancements.
