In the ever-evolving world of smartphones, Realme has made a significant impact with its latest offerings in the 14 Pro series. Particularly, the Realme 14 Pro has stirred interest with its competitive pricing and impressive features that cater to smartphone enthusiasts. This article takes a closer look at the Realme 14 Pro, highlighting its specifications, differences from its Pro+ counterpart, and the overall user experience following our hands-on review at MWC.

Recently, we had the chance to get our hands on the Realme 14 Pro after experiencing the more advanced Realme 14 Pro+. With a €100 price difference between the two models, the Realme 14 Pro aims to provide a compelling alternative while retaining essential features. Positioned at €430 for the base 12/256GB model (with a €50 early bird discount), the Realme 14 Pro offers a competitive entry point in the mid-range smartphone market.

The Realme 14 Pro features a dual-curved 6.77” OLED display with a lower resolution of 1,080 x 2,392 pixels, but it still maintains an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz. While it lacks the quad-curved display seen in the Pro+, it doesn't compromise on durability with an IP68/IP69 rating, ensuring the phone can withstand dust and water exposure.

The selfie camera sees a downgrade, using a less advanced 16MP sensor compared to the Pro+’s 32MP. Additionally, video recording is limited to 1080p @ 30fps, further differentiating these two devices.

On the rear, the camera setup also presents substantial differences. While the circular camera arrangement may appear similar, the Pro lacks a telephoto lens and ultra-wide module, featuring only a main 50MP camera coupled with a 2MP depth sensor. However, it retains Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and can record 4K videos at 30fps.

The Realme 14 Pro is also noticeably lighter and thinner, weighing 179 grams and measuring 7.6mm in thickness, enhancing its portability without sacrificing battery life. Both models share a robust 6,000mAh battery; however, charging times differ—with the Pro supporting 45W charging as opposed to the Pro+’s 80W. The performance gains may compensate for this slower charging, as the Realme 14 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Energy chip, while the Pro+ runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3.

Available in both Gray and a unique "White" finish, which utilizes powdered seashells for a distinct appearance, the Realme 14 Pro stands out in both form and color. Its frame features a matte finish, differing from the shiny design of the Pro+.

The Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro+ were initially launched in China and India, now making their way to Europe. These devices are priced attractively for what they offer, with a focus on delivering high-quality user experiences.
