Realme is set to expand its global footprint, aiming to double its user base over the next three years. The company's journey towards this ambitious goal begins with the launch of the Realme 14 Pro series in Europe, complemented by the unveiling of an innovative prototype phone featuring removable DSLR-like lenses, making its MWC debut truly memorable.

After their initial introduction in China and subsequent release in India, the Realme 14 Pro and Pro+ models are officially available in Europe starting today (March 3).

Realme 14 Pro+ • Realme 14 Pro

The Realme 14 Pro+ starts at €530, with an early bird price of €430. The standard Pro model begins at €430, dropping to €380 for early purchasers. The high-end 14 Pro+ variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at €580 (€530 with the early bird discount) and includes a compatible 120W charger. The 12GB/512GB variant of the vanilla 14 Pro is available for €480 (€430 early bird). Both models come with a 67W charger regardless of storage configuration.

The Realme 14 Pro+ boasts premium specifications, including a quad-curved display, a powerful 50MP 73mm periscope lens (3x), and rapid 80W charging for its 6,000mAh Si/C battery. It is built on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 platform and features Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both front and back. For an in-depth examination, check out our review (also available in video form).

On the other hand, the Realme 14 Pro utilizes a Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset. Its 6,000mAh battery supports only 45W charging, while the display is flat and has a lower pixel density, albeit still providing a 10-bit 120Hz OLED experience. Both models carry an IP69 rating (including IPX6 and IPX8) and comply with MIL-STD-810H standards. However, the standard model lacks the GG 7i glass, and users will miss out on features such as the periscope camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a higher resolution selfie camera (16MP FF compared to the Pro's 32MP AF).

As part of its strategy to double its user base, Realme is keen to incorporate AI technologies, planning to launch 100 million AI smartphones globally within three years. During the MWC, the company showcased two intriguing features: the AI Voice Retoucher, allowing users to give verbal commands for image editing (e.g., "change the sky to sunset"), and the AI Video Eraser, which can remove elements from videos seamlessly.

Moreover, Realme is set to enhance its brand presence through partnerships with renowned brands this year, targeting collaborations with a leading entertainment franchise and a prominent luxury brand.

Realme is pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography with the inclusion of a periscope lens in its 14 Pro+ model, while also exploring groundbreaking technology with its prototype device.

Realme’s Interchangeable Lens Concept device

This concept device is equipped with a customized 1” Sony sensor and a proprietary lens mount system, demonstrated with two lenses: a 73mm portrait lens and a 234mm telephoto lens. Designed to work with the 1” sensor, these lenses promise unmatched image quality that surpasses that of current leading smartphones.

It’s important to note that this is merely a prototype aimed at impressing MWC attendees, and while it certainly succeeded, do not expect to see this concept in retail anytime soon, as it is unlikely to enter mass production.
