In a groundbreaking industry collaboration known as Aduna, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon are joining forces with Ericsson to introduce advanced network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) focused on Number Verification and SIM Swap prevention across the United States.

This joint initiative harnesses the power of network capabilities from T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T, allowing for transformative innovations in sectors such as financial services, e-commerce, and digital identity.

Set to launch nationwide in 2025, Aduna’s Number Verification API promises to revolutionize user authentication. By leveraging real-time carrier data, this technology aims to combat fraudulent SMS activities, facilitating a faster and more secure verification process.

Also on the horizon for 2025 is the SIM Swap network API, which will serve as a critical defense against unauthorized SIM swaps—a prevalent tactic in account takeover schemes that can result in substantial financial losses. As highlighted by a recent case where a woman lost $17,000 despite utilizing two-factor authentication, the need for advanced protective measures is urgent.
