Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy A56, a smartphone that marks a leap in both design and performance. With enhancements such as 45W wired charging, the introduction of the Exynos 1580 chipset, and an improved 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy A56 aims to set a new standard in the mid-range segment.
Sporting a slimmer profile at just 7.4 mm, this model also features a completely reimagined camera island that eliminates protruding lenses, giving it a modern and sleek appearance.
Samsung Galaxy A56This is the first device to be powered by the Exynos 1580 chipset, which offers considerable upgrades over the previous generation with its 2.9 GHz CPU, advanced AMD-based GPU featuring 2x WGP, and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 14.7 TOPS—a performance boost estimated at 37%. However, contrary to earlier speculation, the device comes equipped with 8 GB of RAM rather than the rumored 12 GB.
The display has also been enhanced, boasting a peak brightness of 1900 nits and 1200 nits in high brightness mode while maintaining a Full HD+ resolution and fortified by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The Galaxy A56’s body is equally durable, featuring Victus+ on both the front and back, complemented by an aluminum frame.
While the camera hardware remains unchanged from its predecessor, the Galaxy A56 features a powerful 50 MP f/1.8 main camera, a 12 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 5 MP f/2.4 macro lens at the back, along with a 12 MP f/2.2 front-facing camera. The AI-driven algorithm enables context-aware image enhancements, improved low-light photography, and faster transitions between the main and ultra-wide cameras.
One of the standout features for consumers is Samsung's commitment to supporting the Galaxy A56 with six years of security updates and operating system upgrades, beginning with Android 15 and One UI 7.0, which introduces a fresh UI and enhanced personalization features.
The Galaxy A56 also debuts the Circle to Search feature, simplifying how users can search on their screens with a single gesture.
The A56 introduces the 45W wired charging feature—previously exclusive to high-end Galaxy S models. Dubbed Super Fast Charge 2.0, this technology promises to charge 65% of its 5,000 mAh battery in just 30 minutes, with a full charge taking 68 minutes.
The Samsung Galaxy A56 will be available in four stylish colors: Graphite Gray, Light Gray, Olive, and Pink. Pricing starts at €479/$499 for the 128 GB model and €529/£499 for the 256 GB variant.
