On March 4, Nothing will launch its innovative Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Pro smartphones, which will integrate a unique dedicated button known as the Essential Key. This addition has been eagerly anticipated since Nothing hinted at its features, including a potential red dot design, and now details on its functionality have emerged.
According to recent reports, the Essential Key is designed to provide quick access to the brand's custom AI features through an application named Essential Space. This app will serve as an "AI-powered hub" that stores various types of digital content, such as screenshots, voice notes, and photos.

Users can take advantage of the Essential Key's multifunctionality: pressing and holding the button captures a screenshot, while a longer press allows for recording a voice note. A quick double-tap opens up the content stored in Essential Space, and pressing the Essential Key once while in the native Camera app instantly takes a photo.
