This remarkable feature effectively converts the AirPods Pro into hearing aids, delivering clinical-grade hearing assistance that rivals conventional retail hearing devices.
To initiate the Hearing Aid feature, users must first complete a short five-minute Hearing Test available on their iPhone. The test provides a straightforward summary of their hearing health, including detailed measures of hearing loss in each ear and a securely stored audiogram within the Health app.

Upon completing the test, users receive a tailored hearing profile that adjusts in real-time to enhance the sound frequencies that need boosting. This dynamic profile also enhances audio during phone calls, music, videos, and gaming experiences.
Even if users do not need the Hearing Aid feature, they can still benefit from the Loud Sound Reduction feature, which is particularly useful for those attending concerts or other loud events.

Regulatory Process and Future Rollouts

As a health-related feature, the Hearing Aid attribute must undergo regulatory scrutiny before becoming accessible in new territories. This may explain the delayed rollout in the UK.
Currently, besides the UK, users can check the availability of the Hearing Aid feature across other regions on the Apple's Hearing Health Feature Availability web page.
While the UK is not listed presently, Apple is poised to expand its support, allowing UK residents to look forward to the Hearing Aid feature becoming more widely available.
