Google Search's AI Mode to Offer Voice-Activated Search on Pixel Devices

Back in December, Google announced a new feature called AI Mode for Google Search, which allows users to search by having a conversation with a digital assistant. Recently, it was discovered that AI Mode will be accessible from the Google Search widget on the Pixel home screen. The AI Mode icon, resembling a Search magnifying glass with a Gemini star, will be located on the bottom of the Pixel home screen next to the microphone and Lens icons. This feature is currently being tested internally by Google employees and is powered by Gemini 2.0 with advanced reasoning capabilities, allowing users to ask for comparisons and advice. The release date for AI Mode has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to be available before the end of the year.
