Arm is gearing up to make a significant impact on the server market with the upcoming launch of its first self-developed chip later this year. The chip, designed for server data centers, offers customization options to meet the specific needs of customers. Meta has already been announced as the first customer for this innovative CPU.
This move will put Arm in direct competition with some of its major customers, such as Nvidia, which utilize Arm designs for their server-grade CPUs. Production of Arm's server chip will be outsourced to TSMC, with Softbank, Arm's majority owner, finalizing the acquisition of Ampere, a server chip design firm that will play a crucial role in the development of the new Arm server chip.
