Alibaba chairman Joe Tsai has officially confirmed that Apple has selected Alibaba as its partner for AI services in China. The announcement was made at the World Government Summit in Dubai where Tsai expressed his honor in partnering with Apple.
Apple had considered other companies such as Baidu, ByteDance, and Tencent before deciding to collaborate with Alibaba. The necessity for a local partner in China arose due to government regulations requiring AI services to be provided by local companies.
With this new partnership, Apple Intelligence will soon be available in China, marking a significant step for both Apple and Alibaba in the AI industry.
