Apple seems poised to announce the new iPhone SE 4 at any moment, as fresh leaks continue to arise, solidifying expectations about its design. Recent images, which were swiftly removed, have circulated widely online, providing a transparent glimpse of the upcoming model encased in Spigen’s protective gear. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to mark a departure from its predecessor, which was heavily inspired by the iPhone 8 design. The physical home button is retired in favor of a modern full-screen display with a notch.

The renders indicate that while the button layout maintains familiarity, there is a notable change: the Alert Slider appears to have been replaced with the Action Button, a feature first introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro models. The iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to come with significant hardware enhancements, including a substantial upgrade in battery capacity to a 3,279 mAh battery — matching that of the iPhone 14 — which significantly outclasses the 2,018 mAh battery found in the iPhone SE 3, promising improved battery performance.
Additionally, the new device is rumored to incorporate Apple’s latest A18 chipset, the same high-performance processor featured in the iPhone 16 series, paired with 8GB of RAM. With the launch of iOS 18, the iPhone SE 4 could also utilize features powered by Apple Intelligence, which includes smarter Siri functionalities and enhanced search features in Safari. Despite being marketed as a budget-friendly option, the device is expected to deliver robust performance upgrades, making it a considerable option for Apple enthusiasts, provided they’re not overly focused on the camera capabilities, which is set to feature a single 48 MP rear lens.
With competitors like Google revealing designs for the Pixel 9a and Samsung gearing up to release new models like the Galaxy A36 and A56, as well as Nothing's new Phone (3a) series coming in March, the competition in the mid-range market is intensifying.
