HMD has quietly introduced the Aura² (Aura squared), a budget-friendly smartphone designed for consumers looking for essential features without breaking the bank. This device, which is a revamped version of the HMD Arc, now boasts a more substantial storage capacity of 256GB. It is set to hit the Australian market on March 13, priced at AUD 169 ($106).

The Aura² sports a 6.52-inch IPS HD+ display with a refresh rate of 60Hz and peak brightness of 460 nits. At its core lies the Unisoc SC9863A chipset, complemented by 4GB of RAM. Users can take advantage of the device's generous 256GB internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card slot.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the single 13MP camera located on the rear, while the front features a 5MP selfie camera nestled in a waterdrop notch. The software experience is powered by Android 14 (Go edition), ensuring a smooth performance on this affordable device. Additionally, the Aura² is equipped with a robust 5,000 mAh battery offering 10W charging speeds, along with a fingerprint scanner conveniently placed in the power button.
