According to a recent supply chain report from Korea, Apple is set to launch its first MacBook Pro featuring an OLED display in 2026. The OLED panels will be produced by Samsung Display, which has been tasked with working on initial samples, with mass production expected to begin next year. Forecasts suggest that shipments of the new MacBook Pro could reach between 3 to 5 million units annually.
The upcoming OLED MacBook Pro is rumored to come with a significant redesign, including a hole-punch webcam rather than the traditional notch. This model is anticipated to be thinner and lighter than existing iterations, made possible by the streamlined OLED technology.
Contrarily, for those eagerly awaiting an OLED MacBook Air, the wait will be significantly longer. Current predictions place its launch at 2029, delaying it further than previous expectations of 2027 or 2028. Once available, the OLED MacBook Air will utilize a single-stack display, which will offer lower brightness compared to the two-stack displays found in the MacBook Pro.
