Following last month's Unpacked event, the Galaxy S25 Edge (previously referred to as the S25 Slim) is emerging as an intriguing option in Samsung's latest lineup of premium smartphones. This new device is designed to offer various advantages over the standard Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, as highlighted by Ice Universe's recent revelations.
One of the most pressing concerns regarding the addition of a sleek fourth model in the S25 series has been the potential compromise on battery capacity due to its thin design. Fortunately, recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 3,900mAh battery. While this may not match the capacities of the S25 Plus and S25 Ultra, it is respectable for a device expected to be under 6mm in thickness, making it lighter than the standard S25.

The S25 Edge is expected to be taller and wider than the 6.2-inch Galaxy S25, with dimensions estimated at 158.2mm in height and 75.5mm in width, making it significantly larger. While the precise display size is still under wraps, these dimensions suggest a screen size of approximately 6.8 inches, presenting a challenge for Samsung to keep the weight below that of the S25. The effort to balance size and weight is commendable.
Although Ice Universe has yet to provide an exact weight figure for the S25 Edge, the S25 currently weighs 162 grams, raising期待 for the feel of the S25 Edge in hand.
What to Expect for the S25 Edge Release
When can we expect the Galaxy S25 Edge? While the specifics are murky, indications point to a launch in Q2 of the year, which might mean availability anywhere from early April to late June. Despite uncertainties regarding markets and production numbers, it should debut soon.
Key specifications for the S25 Edge have also surfaced, with leaks suggesting the device will feature a dual rear-facing camera system comprising a 200MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, alongside the aforementioned 3,900mAh battery and a robust 12GB of RAM. Pricing remains uncertain, but it's likely that Samsung aims to keep costs competitive, especially with the upcoming rivalry against the iPhone 17 Air in the fall.
