The SOS messaging function is expected toLaunch across North America shortly, as reported by Mobile World Live.Galaxy S25 and Pixel 9 users will be able to reach emergency services, share their locations with Garmin Response coordination, and communicate with their team effortlessly. Galaxy S25 users on Verizon will see a prompt on their device directing them to a location with a clear view of the sky. The service will determine the nature of the emergency and request further details, taking about 10 seconds to complete the process.
Our goal was to create a seamless experience that's easy to navigate.

The service will also feature a green pointer icon to guide Pixel users to the best spot for a strong signal. Additionally, Verizon aims to broaden its service to enable users to send text messages to friends and family through satellite communication, a functionality that T-Mobile and iPhone users currently enjoy. Earlier this month, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorized Verizon's other satellite partner, AST SpaceMobile, to test their satellite service in collaboration with the carrier. T-Mobile was the pioneer in launching satellite messaging, but Verizon and its competitors AT&T and Verizonare quickly following suit.
