Fitbit Introduces $50 Credit and Firmware Update to Address Overheating Battery Concerns

Source: Date:
Fitbit has launched a new initiative to address serious battery overheating issues affecting two of its wearable devices: the Sense and Versa 3. Customers who have experienced problems will be offered a $50 credit as compensation. Concurrently, Fitbit is prioritizing the release of a firmware update aimed at minimizing the risk of overheating, though this may unfortunately lead to reduced battery life. Users are encouraged to check for updates through the Fitbit app, where those impacted will receive alerts about the firmware availability. Additionally, it's crucial for customers to submit a request to receive their credit, which may take up to a week to process. Customers have until January 21, 2026, to register for this program, as it will no longer be available after that date.
