Samsung Galaxy S25 Series to Experience Minimal Price Increase

Source: Date:

The anticipated Galaxy S25 series from Samsung is reportedly set to launch with a modest price increase, particularly in Korea. Recent insights suggest that while a hike is on the way, the impact will primarily affect only specific models, ensuring that consumers may have fewer concerns about the overall cost.

The news brings both good and bad tidings. The downside is that a price increase is confirmed for the 512GB storage variants. However, the 256GB models will maintain the same launch pricing as their predecessors, which should please many prospective buyers.

The anticipated increase is reported to be KRW 15,400, which is approximately $10 or €10 based on current exchange rates. Should this pattern hold true in other markets, it’s likely that the majority of consumers won't be significantly troubled by this change.

For those eager to purchase a Galaxy S25, there is further good news: Samsung is rumored to offer the 512GB model at the launch price of the 256GB version for a limited time, effectively negating the price hike for early buyers.

Interestingly, Samsung's decision to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for all three S25 models—due to yield issues with its Exynos 2500—comes at an increased cost. However, the company has chosen to absorb this price difference to promote the adoption of AI smartphones, hoping to maintain its shipment levels.

It’s important to note that while these details apply to the Korean market, the strategy for global pricing remains unclear. The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are scheduled for their official reveal on January 22, with the anticipated Galaxy S25 Slim potentially joining the lineup later in the year.
