Samsung is gearing up to introduce its innovative tri-fold smartphone, a competitor to Huawei's Mate XT. This new device will feature a unique folding mechanism designed to protect its flexible screen when stored.
Reports indicate that production for the tri-fold smartphone will begin in the second quarter of the year, signaling a launch window in the third quarter, specifically between July and September. This aligns well with Samsung's tradition of unveiling new foldable devices during this timeframe, suggesting that the tri-fold could debut alongside the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 in July.

The planned production volume for the tri-fold is around 200,000 units, and it will reportedly offer a display that expands to between 9.9 and 10 inches. Additionally, Samsung's foldable smartphone lineup this year includes four models, with the Galaxy Z Flip FE also on the agenda.
In a potential design shift, there is speculation that the Galaxy Z Fold7 may eliminate its digitizer to slim down its profile, as competitors like Honor are setting a high bar in terms of sleekness with products like the Magic V3.
While the specific chipset for the tri-fold remains under wraps, the Fold7 and Flip7 are expected to be powered by the Exynos 2500, which was bypassed for the Galaxy S25 series due to production challenges. Conversely, the Flip FE is anticipated to utilize the more budget-friendly Exynos 2400e chipset.
