Samsung has taken a significant leap in educational technology by introducing generative AI functionalities into its interactive displays, the WAFX-P models. These advanced displays now offer smartphone-like features, enhancing the learning experience in classrooms.

The new feature set, dubbed Samsung AI Assistant, includes Circle to Search, AI Summary, and Live Transcript, aimed specifically at education environments looking to modernize the traditional blackboard. Hoon Chung, Executive VP of Samsung's Visual Display Business, emphasized that these innovations are not merely supplementary tools; they are set to "revolutionize" the educational landscape.

Circle to Search allows users to obtain information instantly by drawing a circle around relevant text or images. The AI Summary feature facilitates lesson recaps, aiding teachers during post-lesson reviews, while Live Transcript provides real-time transcription of spoken words into text, benefitting all students, particularly those with hearing difficulties.

Available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 86-inch options, the WAFX-P series is equipped with a powerful NPU capable of executing 4.8 trillion operations per second. Other specifications include 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and a robust octa-core CPU. The display features 450 nits of maximum brightness, a built-in 4K camera, a microphone, and a 20-watt speaker for comprehensive multimedia use. The device runs on Android 15, integrating functionalities like Smart Note-On for effortless switching between handwritten and digital content, and File Converter for enhanced media management on the screen.
