To combat the rising issue of auto theft in Arvada, Colorado, residents are being encouraged to utilize AirTags and Tile trackers in their vehicles. In 2023, Colorado ranked as the fourth highest state in the U.S. for auto theft, a significant improvement from ranking first in 2021. With this initiative, local authorities hope that equipping cars with tracking devices will assist in locating stolen vehicles more effectively. Looking ahead, Apple is anticipated to release the AirTag 2 by 2025, featuring a substantial upgrade in range thanks to a new ultrawide-band chip akin to that found in the iPhone 15. This upgrade is expected to increase the Precision Finding range from 10-30 meters to an impressive 30-90 meters, enhancing its overall effectiveness. The AirTag 2 will continue to leverage Apple's Find My network, utilizing Bluetooth technology to securely broadcast its location. Nearby Apple devices will relay the signals to Apple's servers, enabling users to track their belongings via the Find My app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
