FBI Probes Baicells, Huawei-Linked Telecom Supplier Operating Nationwide

Source: Date:
Baicells, a telecom equipment provider founded in 2014 and operational in the U.S. since 2015, is under federal investigation due to its connections with Huawei. The company supplies essential telecom gear, including routers and base stations, that supports 700 commercial mobile networks across all 50 states, according to a report by Reuters. This raises concerns about potential espionage or cyberattack implications. Baicells has strongly denied any allegations regarding security threats from its products, asserting its full cooperation with U.S. law enforcement inquiries. The company claims that since severing ties with its Chinese parent company in 2019, all of its equipment is now manufactured in Taiwan, distancing itself from any concerns related to its origins.
