Apple has released the third beta version of iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS Sequoia 15.3. This latest update includes significant modifications to Apple’s notification summary system, temporarily disabling notification summaries for News and Entertainment applications. This move aims to address ongoing issues with notification summaries, which are expected to see improvements in subsequent updates.

In a user-friendly enhancement, individuals can now manage notification summaries directly from the Lock Screen on a per-app basis. Additionally, the appearance of notification summaries has changed; they will now be displayed in an italicized font to help users differentiate them from regular notifications.

Beyond notification adjustments, the beta also includes various bug fixes and minor updates, such as a revision to the Camera Control button for iPhone 16 models, now termed “Lock Focus and Exposure,” replacing the previous AR/AF Lock toggle. Furthermore, the Messages app has received an addition of a Genmoji feature accessible via the “+” button.
