In a significant leadership change, George Zhao has stepped down as CEO of Honor, effective immediately. The resignation, driven by reported health issues, was first disclosed by Chinese media. Honor's board of directors acknowledged Zhao’s decision and shared well-wishes in their official statements.

Following Zhao's departure, Li Jian, a seasoned professional with over two decades in the mobile communications industry, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer. Li Jian previously held various roles at Huawei, where he advanced from an entry-level position in 2001 to a Member of the Supervisory Board before transitioning to Honor in 2021.

The official statement released by CLS China did not elaborate on the reasons behind Zhao’s resignation or any personal details regarding his health.
