Update from January 16, 2025
Renowned leaker Steve H.McFly has released new images that highlight the differences within the Galaxy S25 lineup. The new Galaxy S25 Slim fits seamlessly with its siblings, although its slim credentials are under question as it doesn’t appear significantly thinner compared to the other models.
The original story from January 16, 2025 follows:
Images of the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 Slim finally surfaced, showcasing its resemblance to the rest of the Galaxy S25 family. As a member of this series, it is set to hit the market three months after the other variants. Leaker Ice Universe has also shared renders that help visualize all four versions together. The main feature of the Galaxy S25 Slim will be its lightweight design, though early reports suggest it measures 6.4mm in thickness—hardly a noticeable difference from the Galaxy S25 at 7.2mm, and the Galaxy S25 Plus at 7.3mm thick. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be the bulkiest at 8.2mm thick.

The slight difference in thickness between the Slim variant and the S25 and S25 Plus may be hardly discernible. While it is noticeably thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the distinction may not be as pronounced among the other two models. For further context, the forthcoming iPhone 17 Air is rumored to be just 5.5mm thick.

In another concept image featuring all Galaxy S25 models, the Galaxy S25 stands out with its 6.2-inch display, while the Galaxy S25 Plus and Slim are designed with 6.7-inch screens, making the S25 Ultra the largest at 6.9 inches.

The Galaxy S25 Slim is positioned as a sleeker counterpart to the Galaxy S25 Plus. Nevertheless, it raises questions, as its thickness is hardly under a millimeter less than that of its counterpart. The Slim model is expected to weigh less than the Plus, which might be a key reason for users considering it. Although the Galaxy S25 Slim may not be as thin as the iPhone 17 Air, it probably won't compromise much on specifications. Unlike the Air, which is speculated to have a single camera, the Galaxy S25 Slim could come outfitted with a triple-camera setup, matching the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Anticipated to be revealed alongside the other Galaxy S25 models on January 22, the Slim version is likely to become available for purchase in May, and reservations for all models are already open.
