Set for release on February 6, shortly after the Galaxy S25 launch event, the Zenfone aims to capture attention with its advanced features and specifications.
The most recent Geekbench listing reveals the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, clocking in at a max speed of 3.53GHz, closely mirroring the Galaxy S25's performance, albeit with the Galaxy version being slightly overclocked. It will run on Android 15, enhancing its user experience alongside impressive hardware components, including a substantial 16GB of RAM. Interestingly, there are rumors suggesting that a variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra could also feature 16GB of RAM, although it may not be available in every market.
Performance-wise, the Zenfone 12 Ultra boasts single-core performance scores of 3,036 and multi-core scores of 9,656, presenting numbers that are competitive with the Galaxy S25 Ultra's leaked scores of 3,049 for single-core and 9,793 for multi-core tasks. However, as always, raw numbers don’t tell the full story, as real-world performance could vary vastly. Moreover, the Zenfone is expected to include robust camera and AI functionalities, likely drawing upon the impressive capabilities we've come to expect from premium devices in 2025.
In addition to its processing power, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is set to support 4K video recording, which provides an exciting feature for those who prioritize high-quality video capabilities. Some rumors even speculate that it might share similarities with the ROG Phone 9 Pro, potentially adopting parts of its high-performance specifications.
As the competition heats up between Asus and Samsung, particularly with the introduction of advanced AI features in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, it will be fascinating to see how the Zenfone 12 Ultra measures up in this evolving landscape of flagship smartphones.
