The upcoming OnePlus Open 2, the successor to the original OpenPlus book-style foldable smartphone, is set to showcase impressive design elements as evidenced by recent photos of its foundation, the Oppo Find N5. Given that OnePlus operates under the Oppo umbrella, this connection is hardly unexpected. Notably, insiders suggest that the Oppo Find N5 and the OnePlus Open 2 will claim the title of the thinnest book-style foldable currently available, surpassing the Honor Magic V3, which measures 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded.
The Oppo Find N5 recently surfaced in three revealing images on "X." The first image displays the Find N5 in its folded state, demonstrating a slimmer profile compared to its predecessor, the Find N3. The second photo reveals the rear of the Oppo Find N5 encased in a protective shell, cleverly obscuring its design from onlookers. This model is rumored to feature a robust triple-camera array, including Hasselblad-branded optics and a periscope lens, which will likely also be present in the upcoming OnePlus Open 2. The suggested camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP periscope capable of 3x optical zoom.

The third image demonstrates the Oppo Find N5 in its unfolded position, showcasing its slender profile alongside a couple of stacked coins, emphasizing its minimalist design. The Oppo design team is expected to maintain a flat frame aesthetic as seen in previous models. According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, we can anticipate the unveiling of the Oppo Find N5 next month. This development suggests a broader release strategy for both the Chinese and international markets.
Speculations indicate that the Oppo Find N5, and inherited by the OnePlus Open 2, will likely feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. A noteworthy source, known as the leaker Smart Pikachu, has mentioned the possibility of the Find N5 housing a 5700mAh battery, marking an upgrade from the 4805mAh option found in the Find N3 and the OnePlus Open.
There are also rumors about the inclusion of satellite connectivity and wireless charging capabilities for the Oppo Find N5, which may also translate to features in the OnePlus Open 2.
Given that the original OnePlus Open was released approximately 15 months ago, an introduction of its sequel is highly anticipated in the near future.
