The upcoming Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 looks set to make waves in the smartphone market with its anticipated earlier launch, driven by the success of its predecessor. The new model promises enhancements such as a larger battery housed in a sleeker, lighter design, indicating Xiaomi’s commitment to improving user experience.
However, not all news is positive. The Mix Flip 2 will continue with a dual-camera setup on the rear, making a noteworthy change by replacing the telephoto lens from the original model with a 50 MP ultrawide lens that features a 1/2.76" sensor. This will be complemented by a 50 MP main camera equipped with a larger 1/1.5" sensor.
Original Xiaomi Mix FlipUnder the hood, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, offering robust performance. The main folding LTPO OLED display will measure 6.85 inches with a "1.5K" resolution, ensuring vibrant visuals. Additionally, users can expect a large cover display, NFC capability, and a user-friendly side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
Excitingly, the Mix Flip 2 boasts an IPX8 water resistance rating, a feature not available on its predecessor, along with support for wireless charging. While these specifications collectively suggest a strong upgrade from the original, the decision to forgo a telephoto lens in favor of an ultrawide camera is a point of contention among enthusiasts, reigniting the debate between the utility of telephoto versus ultrawide capabilities.
