Samsung Enhances Efficiency with New RAM Selection for Galaxy S25 Series

In a move set to elevate the performance of its upcoming flagship devices, Samsung has opted for more efficient RAM for the Galaxy S25 series. After utilizing LPDDR5 RAM in the Galaxy S23 models and upgrading to LPDDR5X with the S24 series, Samsung will continue with LPDDR5X but with significant enhancements.

The current Galaxy S24 series employs 13nm RAM chips produced by Samsung, but recent reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 series will transition to more advanced 12nm chips. Notably, the initial order of these chips will come from Micron, while Samsung plans to incorporate a larger share of its own RAM chips in subsequent production runs.

This shift to a smaller semiconductor node in the S25’s RAM will not only lower power consumption but also mitigate heat generation, leading to improved overall efficiency. Each S25 model will feature this RAM alongside the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

For fans of compact smartphones, the standard Galaxy S25 is anticipated to come equipped with a generous 12GB of RAM, marking a departure from the last Samsung flagship model that maintained 8GB. This combination of upgraded RAM and processing power promises to deliver a notable boost in performance for users.
