Recent reports have revealed that Samsung's anticipated tri-fold smartphone will have an even slimmer initial release than previously projected. Originally expected to rival Huawei's Mate XT with an estimated 300,000 units, new insights indicate that only around 200,000 units will actually be produced, a reflection of the complex manufacturing processes involved.
The latest information from Korea suggests that production of parts for this innovative device is set to begin in the second quarter of the year, specifically between April and June. Samsung has reportedly shared its plans with key component manufacturers, although the final design of the tri-fold smartphone is still in development.

The tri-fold smartphone is expected to feature a nearly 10-inch screen when fully unfolded, contributing to its unique design. Despite the buzz surrounding this launch, it seems there have been challenges regarding the sales of other foldable devices. Reports note that sales of the Galaxy Z Fold SE have reached less than 100,000 units to date.
In addition to the tri-fold smartphone, Samsung is also rumored to be working on the Galaxy Z Flip FE, aiming to broaden its foldable lineup. The tech giant expects to sell around 7 million foldable devices this year, which includes projected sales of 3 million units of the Flip7, 2 million units of the Fold7, 900,000 units of the Flip FE, along with the aforementioned 200,000 tri-fold units.
