Delta Airlines is set to elevate the travel experience for its passengers with the introduction of an AI-powered assistant within its mobile app. In a groundbreaking move, the airline also plans to enhance its in-flight entertainment system, featuring ultra-high-definition 4K HDR displays and Bluetooth connectivity options. Moreover, SkyMiles members will soon enjoy complimentary access to YouTube Premium.The new AI assistant, named the Delta Concierge, is expected to roll out gradually throughout the year, allowing travelers to interact via voice or text. While the concept of AI might not seem revolutionary, given the recent advancements in language models, the Delta Concierge aims to provide proactive assistance to passengers. Initial functionalities will include timely alerts regarding passport expiration and visa requirements, with plans to introduce additional features such as local weather updates at travel destinations over time.
Delta's innovative seatback experience, heralded as the "first cloud-based in-flight entertainment system," is scheduled for launch in 2026. This substantial upgrade will include 4K HDR QLED screens, seamless Bluetooth integration, and an impressive 96 terabytes of onboard storage for a plethora of movies, TV shows, music, and more.Delta is committed to enhancing the travel experience, ensuring customers discover something new at every flight while delivering personalized content.
