At CES, exciting updates suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S25 may come equipped with advanced wireless charging capabilities similar to those found in iPhones. The newly introduced Qi2 standard, which emphasizes efficient wireless charging with enhanced magnetic alignment, is anticipated to play a significant role in this development.
The only Android device currently showcasing complete Qi2 compatibility is the HMD Skyline, which boasts improved charging efficiency and magnetic alignment through a carefully designed ring of magnets. Various speculations have emerged regarding Samsung's latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S25, and its potential to incorporate similar wireless charging technology. While Samsung has confirmed plans for some Galaxy devices to adopt Qi2 technology this year, specific details regarding the Galaxy S25 remain unclear. Nevertheless, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) hints that the hardware required for Qi2 charging will indeed be present in many Galaxy S25 models.
This trend of embracing Qi2 technology is expected to continue into 2025, paving the way for even more Android devices, including those from Samsung, to offer robust wireless charging solutions.
