The Apple Watch Series 4 Receives Vintage Status from Apple

Source: Date:
As of now, all versions of the Apple Watch Series 4 are classified as "vintage" globally. This classification includes both the aluminum and stainless steel variants available in 40mm and 44mm sizes.
Launched in September 2018, the Apple Watch Series 4 is notable for its groundbreaking redesign, which featured a larger display, slimmer bezels, and rounded corners. Apple designates products as "vintage" when they have been out of production for over five years. If a product exceeds seven years out of distribution, it is categorized as obsolete. Vintage items remain eligible for repairs as long as parts are accessible, while obsolete items do not have repair options available. Additionally, the 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro has been added to the vintage products list. Notably, this model is the final 15-inch MacBook Pro launched by Apple but can still support the latest macOS, a contrast to the limitations faced by the Series 4.
It's reassuring to see Apple maintaining transparency regarding the repairability of its products, including phones, wearables, and Macs, over the years. If you are currently using an Apple Watch Series 4, a new upgrade might be on your horizon.
