Vivo has officially unveiled the Y200+, a fresh entry in their bewildering Y-series smartphone range. This new model arrives ostensibly as an upgrade to the Y100+, yet on closer inspection, it bears striking similarities to its predecessor, with several key specifications presenting notable downgrades.
Featuring a smaller 6.68" LCD display with a 720x1608 resolution and maintaining the same 120 Hz refresh rate, the Y200+ seems to regress in other areas as well. It retains the 6,000 mAh battery with 44W wired charging, a dual rear camera setup (50 MP main + 2 MP), but the front-facing selfie camera has been reduced from 8 MP to just 5 MP. Other specs, including an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, 7.99 mm thickness, and a weight of 199g, remain unchanged.

In terms of design, the Y200+ showcases a different aesthetic at the rear, which might justify its launch to some extent. Interestingly, Vivo claims that the speakers are 300% louder than those on the Y100+. The device is equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage while running on Origin OS 4. Currently, the Y200+ is targeted exclusively at the Chinese market, retailing from CNY 1,099 (approximately $150 or €145).
