Recent insights reveal that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 flagship is set to leverage an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor specifically designed for Galaxy devices. Anticipated to launch in 2025, early benchmark tests indicate that this version will feature overclocked CPU cores, promising improved performance for users.
According to benchmark results, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor includes two prime CPU cores operating at an impressive clock speed of up to 4.47GHz, along with six performance CPU cores clocked at 3.53GHz. In comparison, the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in non-Galaxy phones reaches a maximum of 4.32GHz for its prime cores, marking a noticeable increase in speed for the Galaxy variant.

Despite the overclocked specifications, the Galaxy S25 Ultra achieved benchmark scores of 9793 for multi-core performance and 3049 for single-core tasks. Interestingly, a reference device outfitted with the same processor but equipped with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM outperformed it significantly, showcasing scores up to 47% higher in Geekbench 6.
While the benchmark results may not meet high expectations, they do not definitively indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor or the Galaxy S25 Ultra will lack overall performance. Industry observers remain optimistic about the capabilities of Samsung's new flagship.
With just about three weeks remaining before the official unveiling of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, anticipation builds as eager consumers await further details.
