Surprising OnePlus 13R Camera Features Revealed, Debunking Previous Expectations

Source: Date:
Rumors and leaks have long surrounded the anticipated launch of the OnePlus 13R, with many assuming it would simply be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5. However, recent revelations suggest that this may not be the case, leading to some intriguing discoveries about the upcoming device, which is set to debut on January 7th.

Interestingly, the absence of the OnePlus Ace 4 in the lineup is due to the superstition associated with the number four in Chinese culture, which is linked to death; this phenomenon is known as tetraphobia. As a result, OnePlus opted to skip this designation, continuing directly to the Ace 5 and beyond. The speculation around the OnePlus 13R has revealed some important differentiators that set it apart from its purported counterpart.
One of the key differences highlighted is the battery capacity; while the OnePlus Ace 5 features a robust 6400mAh battery, the OnePlus 13R will house a slightly smaller 6000mAh unit. Additional camera specifications have emerged, thanks to notable leaker Yogesh Brar, confirming that both the OnePlus 13R and Ace 5 will share a 50 MP primary camera paired with Sony's Lytia LYT-700 image sensor and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens. Both models will also sport a 16 MP front-facing camera.

Moreover, Brar has disclosed exciting configurations for the OnePlus 13R destined for the Indian market. Users can expect a model featuring 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM paired with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For those in need of even more power, there will be an option boasting an impressive 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Given these insights, it's clear that the OnePlus 13R isn't merely a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 5, but rather a distinct device with its own unique features and configurations!
