Top Earning U.S. Apps in November 2023 Revealed Through Unique Advertising Revenue Analysis

Source: Date:
In a recent analysis of app revenue, a unique methodology has revealed the top-grossing applications in the U.S. for November 2023. This ranking, published by Pixalate, assesses the programmatic advertising revenue generated by various apps in both the Apple App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. By estimating ad spend using advanced statistical models, this evaluation highlights how these apps monetize their platforms through advertisements.
Pixalate's revenue estimates are derived from several factors, including the number of programmatic monthly active users (MAUs), average session duration, prevalent cost-per-thousand impressions (CPM) for the app category, and overall ad density. As a result, it presents a more nuanced view of revenue potential in the mobile app ecosystem.
In the Apple App Store, a highly advertised application took the lead as the top grossing app, marking a significant success in programmatic ad revenue. Following this, four additional apps each generated approximately $3 million last month through their advertising efforts, notably including Musi Simple Music Streaming, despite its recent removal from the App Store for violating YouTube's terms of service.
Other notable performers in the App Store included ESPN, ranking sixth with $2 million in programmatic ad revenue, and The Weather Channel at ninth place, bringing in $1 million in the same period.
Shifting over to the Google Play Store, the top app generated an impressive $5 million in programmatic ad spend during November. Not to be overlooked, other significant apps in this marketplace included SoundCloud, which also featured prominently in the rankings.
