HMD is steadily making strides in the smartphone market with its lineup, and although its update schedule has faced criticisms, the company remains committed to its promises. Now, they have taken a major step forward with the release of
Android 15 OTA
for the Pulse Pro, marking it as the first HMD device to receive this latest software upgrade. Reports indicate that units are already starting to receive the over-the-air (OTA) update, which is approximately 3.12GB in size and includes crucial security patches for December 2024. This update not only includes significant performance enhancements but also focuses on improving privacy and security features, optimizing battery usage, and introducing advanced notification management options.
The rollout appears to be global but is being implemented in phases. As a result, your device may not receive the update immediately.
While HMD is not particularly transparent about their official update timelines, several devices are expected to follow in the footsteps of the Pulse Pro to receive Android 15:
- Nokia G42 5G
- Nokia G60 5G
- Nokia XR21 5G
- Nokia X30 5G
- HMD Pulse series
- HMD Crest series
- HMD Fusion
- HMD Skyline
- HMD XR21 5G
- HMD T21
This broader rollout is expected to take place, potentially as late as end-2024 or early-2025.
