Anticipation is building for the upcoming Nothing Phone (3a) and Nothing Phone (3a) Plus, with tech enthusiasts eagerly awaiting these highly touted successors to the Nothing Phone (2a) lineup, which originally featured MediaTek processors. Recent developments indicate that these new models will embrace performance and efficiency through Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, as revealed in the latest Nothing OS 3.0 builds compatible with Android 15. Internal project names have been disclosed, with the Phone (3a) marked as "asteroids" and the Phone (3a) Plus designated as "asteroids_plus."

Meanwhile, the CMF Phone 2, slated for a 2025 release, will stick with a MediaTek chipset and carry the codename "galaga."
Notably, the Nothing Phone (3a) is expected to introduce a telephoto camera, while the Phone (3a) Plus could enhance its photographic prowess with a periscope zoom camera. If realized, these innovations would represent a significant milestone for the Nothing phone series, as previous models have relied on main and ultrawide lens configurations without specialized zoom features.
