OnePlus Open 2 Launch Delayed to Late 2025, Rumors Suggest

Source: Date:

Recent rumors from China indicate that the Oppo Find N5 is set to launch by the end of March. This device is expected to be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 for international markets, following the pattern established by the original OnePlus Open, which was a rebranding of the Oppo Find N3 (note that Oppo has skipped the "4" due to cultural superstition regarding tetraphobia).

Initially, it was uncertain when the Open 2 would follow the N5's release. However, a tipster on X has shed light on this timing, and unfortunately, the news isn't particularly positive.

Reportedly, the OnePlus Open 2 is not expected to make its international debut until the second half of 2025, with July appearing to be the earliest possibility. This delay is notable as the device is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Consequently, the OnePlus Open 2 could be introduced just a few months before the next flagship Snapdragon chip is anticipated to launch in October.

With a rumored premium pricing structure, the Open 2 may only feature this flagship chipset for a brief period, which could be considered far from ideal for potential buyers. However, since this information is still unverified, there remains the possibility for changes in the timeline or specifications. Until then, we'll have to take a wait and see approach.
