For those who recognize the name, Jovi has previously been associated with vivo's AI assistant and various system applications. However, it seems that vivo is ready to expand Jovi into a standalone smartphone brand.
Recent findings from the GSMA database indicate that there are three forthcoming devices under the Jovi label.
- Jovi V50 with the model number V2427
- Jovi V50 Lite 5G with the model number V2440
- Jovi Y39 5G with the model number V2444
Notably, both the Jovi V50 and the upcoming vivo V50 share identical model numbers, as do the Jovi V50 Lite 5G and the vivo V50 Lite 5G. This suggests that the initial offerings from Jovi may simply be rebranded versions of existing vivo devices, possibly available under the Jovi name only in select markets.
However, it is essential to remain aware that plans can evolve, and until an official announcement is made, nothing is set in stone. The GSMA database is typically a reliable source, but vivo could still reconsider its decision to launch the Jovi sub-brand for smartphones, as none of the devices have been publicly revealed yet.
