Even before Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy S25 family, speculation about the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, set for release in January 2026, is already making waves. According to a recent rumor from a tipster on X, Samsung is planning to prominently feature Exynos processors in the S26 lineup.
This follows the anticipated absence of Exynos chips in the S25 models, primarily due to yield challenges with the Exynos 2500, which was initially intended for wider distribution. Reports suggest that the S25 series will largely rely on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, with Exynos 2500 being reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE as production issues have only recently been resolved.
Samsung appears optimistic that the upcoming Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 series will not face similar production hurdles, aiming to lessen the company's dependence on Qualcomm for high-end devices.
However, it's important to note that this information remains speculative and has yet to be officially confirmed. Still, from a strategic standpoint, the direction makes sense for Samsung.
Previous rumors regarding the S26 series also hinted at potential changes in model names, suggesting the standard model might be eliminated, the S26 Ultra could be rebranded as S26 Note, and the S26+ might be referred to as S26 Pro.
