Apple is preparing to discontinue sales of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone SE (2022) in the European Union, effective December 28. Starting on this date, these models will no longer be available through Apple's online and physical stores. However, Apple Authorized Retailers within the EU will continue to sell any remaining stock until it's depleted.

This change aligns with new European Union regulations mandating that smartphones sold with wired charging must utilize USB-C connections. Consequently, the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and iPhone SE models, which still feature the older Lightning port, will no longer be available. In addition, Apple will also stop selling other devices using the Lightning port, such as the Magic Keyboard without Touch ID. To some surprise, this adjustment will also affect Northern Ireland and Switzerland, despite their non-EU status.
iPhone SE (2022)
In Switzerland, these iPhone models will be removed from sales a bit earlier—on December 20—due to the same regulation. Apple intends to unveil a new and enhanced model to replace the iPhone SE next year. This strategic shift marks a deviation from Apple's usual practice, as devices typically remain on sale until September within the EU.
