Recent polling reveals a clear preference within the Honor 300 series, with the Honor 300 Ultra decisively outshining its counterparts. While we expected some differences, the disparity in votes was substantial, particularly when viewed alongside the Honor 300 Pro's performance in the same poll.
The poll included options for the Ultra and the standard Honor 300 models to gauge user sentiment. Although the Pro version received favorable reviews, it appears that the Ultra remains the top choice among voters.
What makes the Ultra stand out? According to various comments, the improvements over the Pro model include a superior telephoto camera (50MP with 3.8x zoom compared to 3x) and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, which was enough to sway user opinions despite the similarities and shared drawbacks between the two models. Many users expressed dissatisfaction with the curved displays, while those who preferred them were still critical of the pill-shaped punch hole design.
The basic Honor 300, however, struggles in this competitive landscape, with nearly half of respondents believing they could find a better mid-range option for a similar price. The standard model relies on the less powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, lacks a telephoto camera, and while some users enjoyed the flat display, the overall specs did not sufficiently compensate for its limitations.
Looking ahead, we have learned that Honor is set to unveil a new GT Phone on December 16, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. While its camera capabilities may not surpass those of the 300 Pro and Ultra, it poses a potential threat to the vanilla 300, which currently retails close to the projected price of the new model.
